Becky Maniaci Becomes Historic King Drive Business Improvement District Board Member

In July, 2005 the Historic King Drive Business Improvement District (BID) Board nominated six new Board Members, one being Becky Maniaci, President of Desktop Solutions, Inc.

The nominations were the result of a two-month process which included:

  1. collecting information from interested volunteers while canvassing the district and at the annual breakfast
  2. soliciting resumes from the 20 people that expressed interest in joining the board, and
  3. conducting face-to-face interviews with the top candidates

The final slate of six new Board Members received the unanimous recommendation of the Board Recruitment Committee and were unanimously approved at the July Board meeting.

Becky and other Board nominees then became official Board Members in October, 2005 after receiving confirmation from the City Council and nomination from the Mayor. Becky is also Chair of the Historic King Drive BID Marketing/Promotions committee.

New Little Helper

Jackson Maniaci became Desktop Solutions’ newest distraction on May 24, 2005. He likes to come visit mommy Becky’s work and let her co-workers hold and entertain him. He has his own cell phone, which he loves to eat. He can play with computer keyboards, but his typing skills still need quite a bit of work. Although he has a social security number, he is not yet on the payroll as we’re still trying to figure out something productive for him to do. That may be awhile. Stay tuned for updated photos as he grows and grows and grows.

Jackson is happiest when naked!
